Image Manager

The Image Manager is used to upload and edit image files that will be used on your website and has two parts, first the Image Management area, and at the bottom the Image Editor area.

For the Image Management area you can see familiar controls are found on the top left, Back, Forward, Refresh, New Folder, Delete, Grid View, Thumbnail View and Upload. Upload and organize the images needed so they are available to insert throughout your website.

The second part of the page when you scroll down is the Image Editor area which has many advanced tools for you to use and edit the images that will be used on your website.

Uploading Files

To upload an image, first go to the desired location in the Image Manager you would like to add the image to. Click the Upload button. Alternatively images can be dragged from the user desktop to the targeted folder in Image Manager.

To select the image to upload from your personal computer, click Upload and then the Select button and navigate to the correct location on your computer. You can add multiple image to upload at once as well.

To ensure compatibility with all versions of all browsers, only upload assets which do not have any spaces in their names. Either remove the spaces before uploading the images, or replace them with underscores (_) or dashes (-).

Once you are ready to upload the images, click the Upload button. 

If the image already exists and you are simply replacing the existing image with the new image, select the Overwrite if file exists check box.

Deleting and Renaming Images

Select the asset you would like to delete and click the Delete icon delete_icon.jpg from the top menu beneath the title of the page Image Manager or right click for the fly out menu and select Delete.

Please note that if you delete an asset and it is currently used on the website, this will create a broken image. 

To rename an image, right click and select rename from the fly out menu. Rename the image and click “OK” to save the changes.

Please note that renaming an asset which is being used on the site will create a broken image or file not found.

Adding and Deleting Folders

To keep your workspace organized in the Image Manager you can add a New Folder by right clicking on the Images folder and from the fly out menu select New Folder. A dialog box will appear allowing you to specify the name of the folder. Or you can click on the New Folder icon new_folder_icon.jpgat the top of the window.

To delete a folder select either the parent or the child folder and right click. From the fly out menu select Delete. You will be prompted with a confirmation message, click OK or cancel to complete the task.

Please note by deleting a folder that contains assets which are being used on the site will create broken images or file not found.
